Man. Moving up from the bottom to the top, there's a section there in the middle that's awesome. Then K$sha shows up. Nice to see the love for Sleigh Ride, Caribou and Danger, though.
And it just cannot be stressed enough how fucking terrible that Adam Lambert album cover is. Wow. |

- Eight ballots used this week, for those who are wondering. Double the amount from last week. But, hopefully we can get back into the 20's soon. |

May have already been pushed here last year not sure but it's sort of only just getting some notice this way.
FYC:
Salt Air - Chew Lips
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va0njQFvFEk
and a gorgeous little ditty very bon iver-ish, plus the boy is an absolute cutey and surprisingly, considering his music here, an Australian Idol runner-up.

That Massive Attack video looks like the opening credits of some awesome movie that I'd really like to see. Cool that they are releasing new music again.
Finally getting into some 2010 music. Big FYCs:
BEACH HOUSE - "ZEBRA"
HOT CHIP - "ONE LIFE STAND"
JAMIE LIDELL - "COMPASS"
THE KNIFE - "COLOURING OF PIGEONS" (Okay... this one is just really friggin' weird and will not be everyone's cup of tea, but I find it mesmerizing and strangely captivating. Basically, it's the centerpiece of The Knife's score for an opera about Charles Darwin, called Tomorrow, In a Year. This track is an 11-minute clusterfuck of just about everything you would expect from The Knife.)
...and on The xx front, I'll go along with the "VCR" love but I'm a bit more partial to "Night Time" right now and I'm still totally digging "Crystalised." Really, the whole album is quite awesome. |

Also, I just heard a couple of tracks from Charlotte Gainsbourg's new album IRM, and I'm in love. Quite a year she's had.
It's produced by Beck, and you can tell. It's beautiful and weird. The title is "MRI" backwards - you can hear the sounds of magnetic imaging machines in the background of the title track. FYC that!
CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG - "IRM" |

You re-use ballots for a few weeks if you don't get a new one from a particular user, right? _________________

| haha. Great minds think alike with that 2nd pick, Deeter. Someone...maybe DavidJay?...had that Sharam and Kid Cudi song on their list last year and I dug it, but then totally forgot about it. Really cool stuff. |

Another song that's prolly gonna figure into my top 3 next week: Lo-Fi-Fnk - "Marchin' In"
And, I just saw this. Apparently, Peaches just released another single off her last album. It's called "Mommy Complex". Here is the video.
I swear, if you didn't tell me that was Peaches, I'd have thought Amy Poehler made a music video. Oh, and be sure to stick around for the glow stick bukkake. |

I think I get Amy Poehler in the shot where she says, "If you gimme flowers, I like baby's breath!" She really looks like her there to me for some reason.
Anyway, I just got back from the gym and listened to that song like 20 times while I ran. |
