RPG: Metanoia (Luis C. Suarez) *** - It's no Toy Story 3. I do think it is, however, the third best animated feature of the year (behind Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon). It's about a group of preteens that gets sucked into an online MMORPG online computer game called Metanoia. This is the Philippines' first 3D animated feature film. It is still a far cry from its U.S. counterparts in terms of the quality of the animation. It does, however, has tons of really cool visuals AND a solid story unlike that other film from America about getting sucked into a computer game (which only has the former). I give it an A for effort and a solid B as an overall film. _________________

Autumn Sonata (Ingmar Bergman) ***1/2 -This is the first time I've seen Ingrid Bergman act as an older woman and also predominantly in Swedish. She portrays a celebrity concert pianist who visits her estranged daughters and during her visit old pent-up feelings and resentments bubble up the surface. Ingrid Bergman is fantastic here and she deserved her Oscar-nomination, but it's Liv Ullman who steals the show. It's probably my favorite performance from her. It's not my favorite Ingmar Bergman film but the two performances here is something that must be seen. _________________
